Christmas is almost here again, so very hardto believe! The past few weeks have been the busiest I have ever been, but I’mnot complaining! Doing my best to get all of the castings done in time forChristmas and I am almost there. We are still getting calls three days beforeChristmas asking if it’s possible to have a casting done for Christmas morning.My deadline for Christmas delivery is seven days before Christmas otherwisethere is just not enough time to get them done. Sorry to everyone who didn’t makethe cut off but hey, a casting makes a great new year’s gift too!! Remember,those baby toes will be little bit bigger tomorrow!

To all of the customers that I promised castingsfor Christmas, they will be done! I may have to work 24 hours a day to do itbut I will get them finished on time as promised!!!

This has been a great year for MemoriesMade. Who knew this little business that I started in 2007 would have growninto the success that it has become? Nothing comes easy and to be sure it hasbeen a tremendous amount of hard work and sacrifice. I have enjoyed everyminute of it and never tire of seeing those tiny fingers and toes and the expressionsof pure joy when moms and dads see their babies finished castings for the firsttime. Priceless!

This past year I was asked to createseveral memorial castings. To say the least these are the most difficult castings, created under the most trying of circumstances. I truly hope they broughtsome small sense of happiness to all and would like to thank my customers fortrusting me enough to create these very special gifts for your families.

And of course I have to thank allof my past and present customers for allowing me the honour of capturing those tinyprecious memories for you and your families. It is a wonderful feeling knowingthat each and every casting I create represents but a fleeting moment of yourbabies life, frozen in time forever, to be treasured for generationsto come.Thank you!!

We are looking forward to another great year in 2012 and hope to see many of you again when you have your second, third or fourth child!

Spring Babytime Show 2010

Memories Made was at the spring Babytime show out at the International centre the weekend of April 28th to May 1st. This was our second appearance at this show and while these events are a lot of work they are more then worth the effort. We get to meet thousands of moms and dads and expectant parents over the course of the 3 days. Once parents actually see the finished products they recognize how truly special they are and most are eager to book an appointment. Our babies dont stay small for very long, each day they get just a little bit bigger.
The show set a record this year with over 30,000 people attending over the 3 days. A whopping 55% of the woman in attendance were pregnant!
The show is always busy but it is the weeks and months after that are the real crazy periods. Getting all of the orders done that come in from the show can be a daunting task but we somehow manage to get it all done. Thanks to all that dropped by the booth!! We'll see you again at the fall show.

Pregnancy Casting

This pregnancy casting was just completed this week. It was done of a woman who was 7 months pregnant with her husbands hands on her belly. The couple will be back for a triple window shadowbox when their baby is born next month. I have been getting lots of requests for belly castings lately. It truly is a unique and wonderful way to capture this special time in your life.

This triple window is of two brothers. People often ask what is the best age to have a shadowbox done. I always say today is the best time to have it done, no matter what age your child is. I have cast children of all ages but I would recommend having a casting done as early as possible. Capturing those tiny features in the early days is truly amazing.

Its funny how things go in cycles. I have had a lot of requests lately for framed ornaments. This one came out wonderful and made a great Christmas present for the grandparents.

This is another recent triple window shadowbox I did for a customer in the Toronto area. The Triple window has become the most popular choice with my customers. It is more expensive then a double or single window but when you consider the fact that you are perfectly capturing all of your babies fingers and toes forever the difference in price is quite small. The white frame and pink background has also become a very popular choice lately. We have all kinds of framing combinations available, just let me know what options you would like for your shadowbox and we can get it done!

Chrstening gift

This casting was done a customer in Hamilton by her brother. It was a surprise christening gift for her baby. It was a very last minute casting and was completed from start to finish in less then 7 days. I went to the customers mothers house where the grandparents were babysitting and did the session without the babies parents even knowing. When the finished casting was presented to the parents at the christening mom was in tears and loved the finished product. What a great brother!

Q. At what age can a LifeCast or impression be done?

Any age is the right age! Our customers range in age from only days old to couples celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. Even fussy babies can be accommodated as the process takes less then a minute and if they move or squirm its ok, the mold material we use is forgiving.

Q. What happens if my baby is really fussy at the time of the casting?

In most cases we can complete the casting with even a very fussy baby. There are times however that it is simply impossible to complete the casting. We want to ensure that the finished casting is a quality creation and in cases where it is apparent that the session is just not going to work out we will reschedule your appointment for another time. A sleeping baby makes a great model! We will try and arrange the casting time around your babies schedule and nap or feeding time makes a perfect time to have your session. Most sleeping babies remain asleep during the entire process and we can be guaranteed of a great final product!

Q. What materials do you use to produce your LifeCasts and impressions?

We use a unique formula that is similar to what a dentist uses to take impressions of your teeth. It is completely non toxic and safe for baby and mom. This special material is what allows us to capture the incredible detail that you see in our finished products.

Q. How long does the process take?

The actual time spent in the molding material takes between 30 to 60 seconds. The entire process can usually be completed in 10 minutes or less. From casting to finished product takes 1 to 2 weeks.

Q. Where are you located?

We are conveniently located in Don Mills near the Don Valley Parkway and Lawrence Avenue.

Q. What hours are you open

We are here to meet the needs of our customers. We understand that busy parents have very hectic lifestyles. We are available to meet your needs 7 days a week 24 hours a day including holidays. Just contact us to arrange your appointment when it is convieient for you.

Q. Can you come to my home to do the casting?

Yes! We know mom's and dad's are very busy so we can make arangements to do your casting at your location. There is a $20 fee for home visits in the GTA. If you are located outside of the GTA please call as arrangements can be made.

Gift certificates are available in any denomination. Please email or call to order.

Q. How should I care for my sculpture?

Treat it as a precious work of art. Remember, all of our creations are custome made pieces or art that can never be re-created. Casts are best left on display where little hands and pets can't reach them. Do not get your sculpture wet or wash it down with water or other cleaning fluid. The protective sealant makes it easy to wipe clean. Casts do not like dampness or extremes of temperature. It is best not to display them next to a window or in damp rooms such as bathrooms or cellars.

Q. What are your terms of payment?

We ask for a 50% deposit to secure a booking. The balance is due when you come to pick up your finished piece. We accept all major credit cards, debit and cash. We will tell you the total cost of your casting at the time of the booking.

Q. When will my casting be ready?

That depends on what kind of sculpture you choose and the time of year. We reccommend that you book early around mothers/fathers day, Christmas and graduation time as this are our busiest periods. We cannot rush the process as there is a set amount of time that the sculpture needs to cure before we can do the fine detail work and finish the creation. Generally speaking we can complete your piece with-in a week. We will tell you at the time of your booking how long it will take to complete.

Q. Do you do castings of adults?

Of course! A LifeCast is not simply for children. We can do a casting for anyone and for any occasion. Graduations, anniversaries, birthdays, weddings virtually any special occasion can be accommodated.
